Compliance
How Print Swap operates
Print Swap is a platform for arranging artist-to-artist print exchanges. This page explains the standards, partners, and safeguards that support the platform, including fulfilment, payments, content rules, and reporting.
Print fulfilment
Physical prints exchanged through Print Swap are produced and shipped through our nominated Print Partner.
Current Print Partner: The Print Space
The Print Partner may change from time to time. Where it does, we will update this page.
Print Swap coordinates fulfilment with the Print Partner and is the first point of contact for swap-related delivery issues, working with partners to resolve problems where possible.
Payments
Payments made through Print Swap are processed using Stripe, a secure third-party payment processor.
Depending on the stage of the swap, the payment flow may involve:
- pre-authorisation
- capture on acceptance
- fraud or risk checks
- reversal or release of payment holds where appropriate
Print Swap does not store full card details.
Charges may be shown as a breakdown (for example print production, shipping, and Print Swap fees) where the app presents itemised totals. See our Pricing page for how charges work.
Artwork rights and uploads
Artists must only upload work they have the right to use and make available through the Platform.
By uploading artwork, users confirm that:
- they own the work or control the necessary rights
- the upload does not infringe third-party rights
- the work complies with our Terms and platform rules
If we become aware of an infringement claim or a breach of our content rules, we may remove the work and take further action, including account suspension.
Prohibited content
The following are not permitted on Print Swap:
- unlawful content
- copyright-infringing material
- hate or extremist content
- child sexual abuse material
- non-consensual sexual imagery
- obscene or unlawful violent material
- malware or attempts to interfere with the Platform
- other content or conduct that breaches our Terms or applicable law
We may remove content, suspend activity, or close accounts where necessary.
Moderation and enforcement
Print Swap may use a combination of:
- automated tools (including AI-assisted content review)
- human review
- user reports
- fraud and risk signals
to identify prohibited content, abuse, technical misuse, or unlawful activity.
Automation may assist with initial screening, triage, prioritisation, or obvious cases; human oversight applies where decisions materially affect accounts or content visibility.
Where appropriate, we may:
- remove content
- pause or cancel swaps
- freeze or close accounts
- retain evidence
- cooperate with payment processors, advisers, or authorities
Reporting concerns
If you want to report prohibited content, suspected infringement, abuse, fraud, or another concern, please contact hello@print-swap.com or use the in-app reporting and support tools where available.
Please include as much relevant detail as possible so we can investigate efficiently.
Delivery and print quality issues
If a print is not delivered, arrives visibly damaged, or appears to contain a significant print quality defect, contact Print Swap promptly at hello@print-swap.com.
Depending on the issue and the available evidence, Print Swap may investigate and, where appropriate, coordinate a reprint, replacement shipment, refund, credit, or another reasonable remedy.
Full details are set out in our Terms and Conditions (in the app under Settings → Legal). A web summary may be available at print-swap.com/terms for convenience.
Fraud, misuse, and platform protection
Print Swap may pause, reverse, refuse, or investigate activity where reasonably necessary to:
- prevent fraud or abuse
- correct technical or payment errors
- protect the Platform and its users
- comply with law or payment processor requirements
These protections are part of how we keep the platform workable and trustworthy.
Policy updates and governing terms
We may update this page from time to time to reflect changes to partners, processes, or platform rules.
The governing contract terms for using Print Swap are those presented in the app. Website summaries (including this page, Privacy, and Pricing) are for convenience. If anything on the website conflicts with the in-app legal text, the in-app version takes precedence for active users.
