A mutual exchange of original prints between photographers.
What Print Swap is
Print Swap is a platform where photographers exchange original, editioned prints — each with a certificate of authenticity — not for sale, but by mutual agreement.
You offer a print. Someone offers theirs in return. If both sides agree, the prints are produced and sent. Each photographer receives a physical work they chose, from someone whose work they respect.
There are no listings, no prices, and no public metrics. Nothing is bought. Nothing is sold.
Why it exists
We're all drowning in images, but starving for the ones we might actually treasure. Gallery prices put print-collecting out of reach; sharing is effortless, but true ownership feels elusive.
The idea isn't new. Photographers have swapped prints for generations — David Hurn has over 700. Print Swap simply makes it possible across distance.
It exists to restore weight to the medium — to slow things down, to make photographs objects again, and to centre the exchange on mutual appreciation rather than audience, status, or market value.
This is not about collecting. It's about choosing one photograph, offering another, and living with the result.
Who it's for
Print Swap is for photographers who care about print as a medium, and who value exchange between peers.
It is not a marketplace, a gallery substitute, or a way to acquire work without paying for it. It's not designed for scale, optimisation, or visibility.
If you're interested in exchange rather than accumulation, this will make sense. If not, it won't.
Status
Print Swap is currently in private beta.
Access is by invitation. There is no public launch date, no queue, and no expectation that everyone who expresses interest will be invited.
If the idea resonates, you're welcome to register your interest below. We'll be in touch if it's a good fit.
